At Imagine Childcare, we recognise that the early years are a vital time for establishing healthy habits—and that excellent nutrition plays a crucial role not only in a child’s physical growth, but also in supporting their cognitive development, emotional wellbeing, and positive lifelong relationship with food.
Nutritious and Delicious Meals
As part of our commitment to providing exceptional early childhood education and care, all Imagine Childcare centres offer nutritious, chef-prepared meals made fresh daily in our onsite kitchens. Children enjoy positive and social mealtime experiences with their peers and Educators, where healthy eating habits and conversations around nutrition are naturally encouraged.
Our seasonal menus are designed using the freshest local produce and are thoughtfully crafted by our qualified chefs. Each menu is tailored to meet over half of a child’s daily nutritional needs and includes a variety of textures and flavours to support healthy growth, development, and a lifelong love of good food.
Catering to Dietary Requirements
We understand that every child is unique, and some may have specific dietary needs due to allergies, intolerances, cultural beliefs, or family preferences. That’s why we work closely with families during the menu planning process to ensure each child’s individual requirements are safely and respectfully met.
Promoting Health and Nutrition
Our Educators play a key role in helping children build positive relationships with food. We do this through a range of engaging strategies and hands-on experiences, including:
- Involving children in creating healthy menus
- Celebrating cultural diversity through food and mealtime routines
- Encouraging meaningful conversations about nutrition during meals
- Modelling healthy eating habits
- Making mealtimes relaxed, enjoyable, and social
- Engaging children in our gardening program, where they help grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and build a connection to where food comes from
