We’re excited to announce the opening of our brand-new Art Studio at Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Oakleigh South! This vibrant space is designed to inspire creativity and provide our young learners with the tools to explore the world of art in a fun and engaging way.

Our new Art Studio allows us to provide a unique extra-curricular with weekly art classes, to extend on your child’s interests and support them to develop holistically.

A Creative Space

Our new Art Studio is a place where creativity can flourish! Equipped with a variety of art materials and designed for exploration, the studio offers a space for children to experiment, create, and learn. We focus on the process of creating rather than just the final product, encouraging children to enjoy the journey of making art.

Introducing our Art Teacher

Under the guidance of our dedicated Art Teacher, Michelle, children will embark on a journey of artistic discovery, learning valuable skills such as critical thinking and communication while expressing themselves authentically.

Michelle has a degree in Fine Art from Monash University and has been glass-blowing for over 15 years; making her own glass art, assisting other artists and teaching workshops.

The core of Michelle’s art classes is to provide children with opportunities to explore various art forms and materials focusing on the process rather than the end result. Michelle hopes to foster a love of creating and encourage self-expression through exploration and experimentation.

Art in our Curriculum

Art is integrated into our broader curriculum at Imagine Childcare. Whether through drawing, painting, or constructing, art enriches children’s learning and supports their development across all areas. It’s not just about making beautiful pictures—it’s about building confidence, problem-solving, and discovering new ways to express themselves.

Community Events

In 2025, we’ll be hosting a series of Paint & Sip events at our Art Studio, and we can’t wait to share this experience with the community! These free, family-friendly events will be open to the public, where parents can enjoy a barista-made coffee or tea, while children will be treated to a refreshing smoothie.

Together, families will have the opportunity to participate in a fun and engaging art class, creating memories while exploring their creativity in our welcoming studio.
