Imagine Childcare’s Commitment to Child Safety and Wellbeing

At Imagine Childcare we are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children, Children with Disabilities and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Regardless of family background, ethnicity, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs or ability, we are committed to creating an environment that is safe & supportive for every child within our centres. An environment where child safety is valued, respected and all children are protected from harm.

Imagine Childcare has zero tolerance for any form of child abuse and are committed to ensuring all employees understand that child safety and wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility. All employees and volunteers are made aware of the conduct expected within the organisation, through our policies and procedures and are aware of the requirement to report concerns for the safety and wellbeing of children to the appropriate authorities.

Imagine Childcare is committed to creating an inclusive and culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. We at Imagine Childcare, recognise the deep history of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We respect and value their cultural rights and encourage the children and their families to express and enjoy their culture within our centres.

How We Keep Children Safe in Our Centres

We have implemented a range of robust child protection measures across all of our centres, including:

  • Comprehensive CCTV surveillance, with cameras operating throughout our centres (we are one of only a handful of organisations with this level of monitoring).
  • Team-based supervision, with Educators working in pairs wherever possible.
  • Rigorous recruitment and screening processes, managed by both our People & Culture team and Centre Directors.
  • Mandatory Child Protection and Child Safe Standards training for all team members during induction and renewed annually.
  • Ongoing verification and audits of Working with Children Checks.
  • Large supervision windows for clear visibility across all learning spaces.
  • Additional child protection training offered to all staff in all states—even where it is not a legislative requirement.
  • Adoption of the National Model Code for Taking Images or Videos of Children, ensuring safe and respectful use of technology and electronic devices within our centres.

The wellbeing and safety of all children in our care will always be our priority.
